Youth Winds Concerto Competition

The Concerto Competition is designed to promote a high level of artistic achievement by facilitating the young musician’s talent and work ethic through the preparation of an advanced level concerto. To be involved in this competition, the student musician must be an active member of the Lone Star Youth Winds. Eligible literature must be 6-10 minute concerto/work/UIL Class 1 composition for solo/small ensemble and wind band, however, the composition must have an available accompaniment for wind band.

The winner receives the opportunity to perform the solo with the Lone Star Youth Winds on the May concert, acknowledgement in the May playbill as a guest artist, and acknowledgement on the LSWO website as winner of the competition.
