TACA Awards LSWO

TACA (The Arts Community Alliance) champions artistic excellence in performing arts organizations and encourages innovation, collaboration, and engagement through financial support, stewardship and resources.

On January 28, 2013, the Lone Star Wind Orchestra (LSWO) was honored with a TACA grant award in the amount of $8,000. Some of the highlights from the past application cycle included the LSWO’s continued commitment to music education with the St. Philip’s Drum Club and the LSWO Youth Winds, along with a collaborative performance with the Turtle Creek Chorale, an artistic partnership with EMVA and the Valencian government, and bringing in guest artists like award-winning American composer Carter Pann.

TACA awarded $1,300,000 this year to local performing arts organizations, an 18% increase over funds distributed last year. Grants went out to 42 diverse and deserving performing arts organizations like the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, enriching the lives of North Texans of all economic, social and ethnic backgrounds.
