The Lone Star Wind Orchestra is committed to giving back to the communities we serve through numerous outreach initiatives and by presenting scholarships each year to deserving area youth.
Why We Give Scholarships?
Making a difference in the community and changing people’s lives with music is a dream the Lone Star Wind Orchestra founders hoped to see come to fruition when they started the organization in 2006. Since the beginning we have remained true to the dream by providing scholarships to students pursuing higher education and expanding the ways we help students still in secondary school with scholarships to participate in tuition-required music programs. Scholarships are part of our legacy for the future and we eagerly seek your partnership and support.
Annual scholarships are awarded competitively to exceptional students who are either graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education, finalists in our annual concerto competition or members of Lone Star Youth Winds. Since 2008, LSWO has awarded over $50,000 in educational scholarships.
