NTGD22 Exclusive: Impact of Lone Star Kids

NTGD22 Exclusive: Impact of Lone Star Kids

Nothing inspires young musicians more than positive contact with leading artists in their field.

Have you heard a live musical performance that inspired you? A performance that brought you to tears? A concert that made you want to dance and shout in joy?

Music has the power to change lives and touch us deep in our souls. The Lone Star Kids program provides thousands of Title-I middle school students with the opportunity to hear a live Lone Star Wind Orchestra performance.

For many of these students it is their first live performance! Their experience is an opportunity to hear conversations with professional composers, conductors, and performers. They get to experience the energy and excitement of a live musical performance.

The impact of our Lone Star Kids Program:

After the trip, I saw a noticeable increase in both confidence and practicing among my students. They understood that they could also be amazing musicians with the right work ethic and mindset.  – Caitlin Koch, Director of Bands, Summer Creek Middle School

The students did not stop talking about those trips for weeks… these were vital to keeping our students inspired and engaged in the music-making process.  – Kimberly Tucker, Director of Bands, Tennyson Middle School

You can play a part in creating unforgettable experiences for young musicians. Please help inspire the next generation of musicians, creators, and leaders by supporting our Lone Star Kids program. North Texas Giving Day is September 22nd, but early giving begins September 1st.
