Get up and Give on North Texas Giving Day

September 18, 2014 – 6:00 am – 12:00 midnight!

Lone Star Wind Orchestra is thrilled to be part of the sixth North Texas Giving Day on September 18. This one-day event was launched in 2009 by the Communities Foundation of Texas with ongoing support from Center for Nonprofit Management. www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org, to provide a unique public resource for connecting North Texas nonprofits and supporters. Between 6am and Midnight more than 1,500 local charities will share in the joy of donors uniting via one central website to Get up and Give to organizations they know and love.

Lone Star Wind Orchestra has been a part of North Texas Giving Day since the very beginning. We are grateful that NTGD donations have increased every year as our LSWO family has grown. Last year, we received just over $16,000 from generous supporters including our board and management team. This year our goal is to raise $20,000 for musical programming benefiting children and youth. This includes Lone Star Youth Winds, Lone Star Kids, and the St. Philip’s “Drum Club.”

“We are very excited to have North Texas Giving Day be part of Music Changing Lives again,” says LSWO Executive Director, Dr. Barry Knezek. “In this, our ninth season, we will set a new record for Title 1 students attending our concerts and the Lone Star Youth Winds welcome a new conductor, Brian Britt. This is going to be a great year!”

Please mark your calendar and get up and give to Lone Star Wind Orchestra on September 18. Gifts of more than $25 will be receive bonus funds from a pool of $2 million. We’re looking forward to receiving your gift and the bonus funds that go with it.
