On January 31st, the Lone Star Wind Orchestra was honored with its second consecutive TACA grant award. TACA (The Arts Community Alliance) exists to champion the performing arts by providing financial support and services to increase public awareness and participation in the performing arts of North Texas, which in turn helps to improve the quality of life for citizens of all economic, social and ethnic backgrounds.
TACA distributed a fourth consecutive $1 million in grants to 37 diverse and deserving North Texas performing arts organizations. The grants were awarded at the annual TACA Grant Awards Presentation, sponsored by RBC Wealth Management, which was held at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre. TACA’s grants will help support nearly 5,000 performances that approximately 1.3 million people will attend. Ranging from $5,000 to $100,000, TACA grants were awarded to a varied group of North Texas’ performing arts organizations, from the very large and established to the newly emerging.
