The Lone Star Wind Orchestra Finds A New Home
The Lone Star Wind Orchestra is proud to announce our new home office at the Sammons Center for the Arts in Dallas, Texas. The LSWO is home to artists and arts groups that perform in venues across Dallas, joining organizations like Turtle Creek Chorale (TCC), Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra (GDYO), The Women’s Chorus of Dallas, Voices of Change, and Cara Mia Theatre Company. This community creates a welcoming home to innovate, create, and collaborate with other Dallas-based arts organizations.
“The Lone Star Wind Orchestra is excited for this new opportunity to work in one of the hearts of the Dallas arts scene, and we’re excited to work alongside the Turtle Creek Chorale, Cara Mia Theatre, and others,” says Tony Corson, LSWO Chief Development Officer. “I’m looking forward to being in a creative and inspiring environment daily! I would like to thank Christopher Tucker, Todd Watson, and the LSWO Board of Trustees for all of their work to make this happen.”
Incubator for the Arts
The Sammons Center for the Arts is known as an “Incubator” but is more like a “Greenhouse” for performing arts groups. Located in the Historic Turtle Creek Pump station in Dallas, Sammons Center is home to 17 arts groups representing every performing arts discipline. At Sammons Center for the Arts, they believe that: 1) the Arts should be accessible for all; 2) the Arts ecosystem needs both small and large organizations; 3) the Arts can help build community and provoke new thinking; and 4) the Arts are a core asset of any thriving economy.

- Present: Home to 17 arts organizations in a variety of disciplines.
The Lone Star Wind Orchestra moved in on March 4th and shares office space with the Turtle Creek Chorale. The LSWO appreciates the support of TCC Executive Director Jeremy Wayne and Artistic Director Sean Baugh along with Sammons’ directors Joanna St. Angelo and Michael Cook for helping to make this a reality. The LSWO is thrilled to work alongside such storied Dallas arts organizations.
