Get into the Holiday Spirit with “Parade of the Toys: A Holiday Concert” featuring the LSWO

The air is chilly, the presents are wrapped and the family is all together. That can only mean one thing – it’s time to celebrate the holidays with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra (LSWO)! Join the LSWO, under the direction of Eugene Migliaro Corporon, as they present Parade of the Toys: A Holiday Concert at the Dallas City Performance Hall on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 2:30 p.m.

Joined by the Berkner High School Symphonic I Band from Richardson, under the direction of Frank Troyka, the concert will feature joyous music such as Christophe Beck’s Symphonic Highlights from “Frozen,” Victor Herbert/Rogers’s March of the Toys, Leroy Anderson’s A Christmas Festival and Sleigh Ride, Julie Giroux’s Christmas and Sousa Forever, Jingle Them Bells and Christmas with Mozart, and Leon Jessel’s Parade of the Wooden Soilders. The concert will also include a sign-along for the whole family to enjoy!

The Richardson Berkner Ram Band Program is rich in a tradition of excellence and quality in musical performance. Frank Troyka has served as the Director of Bands at Berkner High School since May 2006.

“We are so excited to have the Berkner High School Symphonic I Band join us for this concert,” said Christopher Tucker, LSWO Director of Artistic Planning. “This concert will be sure to get you in the holiday spirit. We invite everyone to come join us for this spectacular afternoon!”

“As part of the LSWO’s long-standing commitment to the community, we will be collecting gifts for WFAA’s Santa’s Helpers at this concert,” said Michael Catcott, LSWO Board Chair. “Guests are invited to bring a new toy to donate.”

General admission is $30; discounts are available for groups, students and senior citizens. Visit www.lonestarwindorchestra.com or call 800.838.3006 to purchase your tickets.
