Postcards & Snapshots
Event Details
Postcards have long been a tradition of sharing news, keeping in touch with friends and family, while traveling or visiting places around the world. The Lone Star Youth Winds (LSYW) is about to embark on a historic journey to New York City to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall (Want to support their trip with a donation? Visit here). Before they make their way to Carnegie Hall in June, the Youth Winds present a program on Mother’s Day at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.
On Sunday, May 12th, the Lone Star Youth Winds under the director of Andrew Trachsel will present an exciting concert inspired by its upcoming trip to New York City titled “Postcards & Snapshots.” The program welcomes LSYW resident composer Julie Giroux. She will attend to conduct the world premiere of a new work commissioned by the Lone Star Youth Winds. The program will also include works by Leonard Bernstein, Robert Sheldon, and Michael Markowski, along with a solo performance by the 2024 Lone Star Youth Winds Concerto Competition Winner.
Director Andrew Trachsel and the Lone Star Youth Winds will present POSTCARDS & SNAPSHOTS on Sunday, May 12th, 3 PM, at the Eisemann Center in Richardson, TX.
